Well, we are now facing November and according to multiple forecasts the weather is expected to be a very pleasant “fall” as far as daily temps ranging roughly 80/60. If that holds true that will be a blessing after our 100+ days of 90 plus degrees this summer. Let’s get into our Central Florida Bass Fishing November 2023 forecast.
Fishing out of Camp Mack on the Kissimmee Chain is a slight challenge right now with lower than normal rain falls and generally the Army Corps of Engineers is not letting much water flow south. Plus the challenges they are facing (self created) with higher lake levels on the Big O. All of that creates some interesting conditions that we have to overcome.
For the Kissimmee Chain, we’re trying to focus on pads, reeds, or Kissimmee grass on outer points or inside cuts with some semblance of deeper water. That could be a drop off, an inside cut, or adjacent river/creek channel. For those spots I always start our search with a Gambler EZ Swimmer because it will either spook bait fish or get a serious blow up. Either way you know you are in the right area. Also, keep a good hollow body frog on the deck of your boat, these are invaluable on so many occasions. Tipe #1: Never, ever leave the dock without a black & blue blue flaked senko with a blue tip.
Moving over to Winter Haven and the South Chain in particular we’re changing our gear and approach. Here, we are fishing more natural / neutral baitfish colors. Pearl whites, watermelon red with pearl, green pumpkin, lighter watermelon red flake colors always seem to prevail here. Hopefully you’ll be able to take something from this month’s Florida Bass Fishing in November article.
